Homeschooling For Today

Today the girls were out of school due to flash flooding in our area (yesterday we had floods, tornadoes, and an earthquake--craziest weather day ever). So with our unexpected time off, what did my girls ask to do? They said, "Homeschool us, Mom!" We did have some homework to take care of, so we sat down and got started. Two math worksheets soon evolved into a math experiment involving measurement and hypothesis, and lots of water.

After that we moved into a spelling pre-test, then book reading, and ended with writing a story and an art project. Before we knew it, two hours had passed by and the girls and I had not only accomplished our goals (hopefully some learning occurred as well), but we also had a really good time together!
